Raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Ariane is very much a prairie girl. She spent all her summers, while growing up, in Saskatchewan. For some inexplicable reason, the Saskatchewan people and landscape inspired her to write.

Though she has always had a love of music, it wasn't until she was offered singing lessons in her late teens that she started thinking of songwriting as a serious option. A year after starting, she was nudged by one of the organizers of the Alberta Gala de la Chanson to submit her application. With her first three compositions she was accepted as a contestant.

Not only did she sing on stage for the first time, she also found herself winning the Western Canadian Chant'Ouest festival and performing at the semi-finals of the Festival de la Chanson de Grandby in Québec where she gave her fourth ever live performance.

That experience left her reeling, and she spent the next 6 years taking a physical theatre certificate, teaching herself guitar then studying with Terry McDade, writing songs and singing as a hobby, recording demos and finishing a Digital Arts and Media Diploma at MacEwan College.

In 2005 she made the decision to return to music. She spent the next two years increasing her song list and gigging. Finally, between June and November of 2007 she went into the studio with seasoned musician and producer Michael Lent to record and co-produce her first CD Double Entendre which was released in the spring of 2008.
