Thanks so much to the entire Breakout West and Western Canadian Music Awards team for a wonderful 4 days in Regina. It was a great opportunity to catch up with friends, make new ones, and discover the strange quirky city which turned to a sea of green on the Riders' game night (they won!). Thank you Greg Gillespie for all your work; Randy Tomniuk, Imageworks Alberta, Doug Cole, and Glenn Thorpe for your amazing camera work and generosity.

It's that time of year again. I'm dragging along my percussionist Ian Morris and we're going to Whitehorse for the Breakout West festival. If you're in the area, it should be a fantastic party. Come by the Old Firehall on Friday at 8 or at L'AFY at 11 on Saturday. We'll be playing our minds out...then we'll be out and about listening our ears off!
Another Tumble Leads to...
After yet another set back in the transportation department (long story), the CD release for Wrecked Tangles and Love Knots is being pushed back until the spring but we'll have a local party 'cause it's about time! October 28th at the Haven Social Club with Cam Boyce on violin and many other instruments, and Caleb Caswell on drums and percussion.
There are some great gigs coming up: September 10th for Hair of the Dog at the BlackDog Freehouse in Edmonton with Caleb Caswell on drums and percussion, and an upcoming September release of the first official French music video for Je suis le genre. It's fall, the gears have been greased and we're ready to roll so come on out! A little different kind of Nextfest...
It's that time of year again... Nextfest!!! This year instead of participating to this multi-media/multi-discipline festival as a musician, I will have some visual art and photography on display. Come take a look any time after May 30th at the Bohemia Cafe (just behind the Azimuth theatre...behind Grant MacEwan downtown campus). The coffee is great, there will be many more artists on display, and live music to boot!
Watch the new official music video! So after spending days of hand crafting a full city (including a park with ducks on a pond, a tree, and a dog) Greg feverishly worked to piece it all together and get the whole thing edited. Featuring Carline Steel and Daniel Letto, Makeup by Mary Phan, I just have to say THANK YOU to everyone involved...Oh, and Kyle Bell for being such a sport about me taking over his living room and lugging stuff around in his truck, as well as Greg's family for letting us take over their HOUSE!
CLICK HERE TO WATCH!! What the heck! That's a wrap...!?!?
Alright, so we've just finished shooting two videos for the upcoming album. But here's the thing... It's a freakin' MIRACLE! We couldn't have planned it better. It turns out that unbeknownst to any of us, Greg Gillespie (the video-creative master mind who shot the videos) lives accross the street and 3 buildings from my sister's apartment!!! On top of that, the studio where we did the shoot is only 4 blocks away! It made for an intense-so arts and craftsy-time consuming-start first thing in the morning and go until 3 a.m. week that was absolutely convenient and charming. I even got to hang out with Greg's three year old and play Cat In The Hat games. I'm wonderfully satisfied and looking forward to seeing the final results.
Nominated for the RAFA's awards for excellence!
Since 2004, the RAFA (an Edmonton based agency that supports franco-albertain artists) awards a prize for artistic creation.
Vancouver here goes!
After a great time in Toronto, I'm heading to Vancouver to shoot two music videos with Greg Gillespie (he's done work for great acts like The Wheatpool, Deon Blyan, and F&M). We'll be doing two excerpt from the upcoming fall release Wrecked Tangles and Love Knots, and three actors form the Vancouver Film School will be involved : Caline Lemire Steel, Dan Letto, and Paul Piaskowski. I've never used actors before so this should be interesting... I'll keep you posted!
Canadian Music Week in Toronto!Looks like March will be a great month! Not only is my wrist on the verge of a full recovery after the surgery in January, but I get to play for Canadian Music Week in Toronto. Come out to the Free Times Café on March 11th at 1 a.m.! I'll be accompanied by Ian Morris on drums/percussion and we'll be performing bilingual sets with songs from my albums as well as some fresh ones from the upcoming new release : Wrecked Tangles and Love Knots. It should be a fantastic week for music and there are a TON of Edmonton musicians featured so keep your eyes and ears open if you're in the area (canadianmusicfest). By the way, thanks to Alberta Music (AMIA) and Harvard Broadcasting for helping me get here!

peinture...
